IFACare was an organisation that offered access to Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) that had received relevant training.
- IFACare itself does not provide financial or investment advice to the public. It is not authorised to do so. However, through IFACare you can contact an Independent Financial Adviser who can provide advice. Although IFACare supports the training of its members, it does not supervise or give any warranty in relation to any advice or service provided by them. Consequently, IFACare can accept no liability, whether in contract or negligence, towards any client of any member in respect of any act or default of any such member.
Services of members
- All IFA members of IFACare are authorised to provide investment advice under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Their remuneration may be by fee or commission and most will agree to provide an initial meeting without charge or obligation. All will provide details of their terms of business before taking on a new client.
- The services available from an IFACare member will include advice on the arrangement and management of investments, the calculation of the likely financial impact of a future need for care and advice on the range of insurance and financial planning options available. Even where the need to pay for care is immediate, an IFACare member may be able to offer valuable assistance and advice on ways to minimise the impact of care costs.
- In order to obtain the most appropriate advice from a member you should be prepared to provide him or her with financial advisor full details of your financial and family circumstances and you may wish them to consult with other members of your family and with your solicitor or accountant.
Conditions of membership
- Membership of IFACare is restricted to authorised independent financial advisers who have undertaken specialist training in long term care planning. Continued membership is dependent on a commitment to keep this training up to date and on compliance with the IFACare Code of Conduct.
